With the aim of knowing different initiatives focused on promoting and improving the efficient use of water and its effect on the productivity of companies, the Laboratory Commission of the Guatemalan Association of Exporters (Agexport) held in recent days the first edition of ExpoConferencias Hidroindustria.
The objective, in addition, is to seek the union of the academic, public and private sectors that work in this regard.
According to Marco Centeno, president of the Laboratory Commission of Agexport, during the activity that took place at the Rafael Landívar University (URL), conferences were held that addressed the issue of the use of technologies to treat wastewater from the industrial sector and that help reduce pollution and water waste.
Likewise, the academic activity alternated with a commercial exhibition in which 32 exhibitors were presented exhibiting their proposals for disinfection, treatment and recycling of water for all types of industrial processes.
For his part, the dean of the Faculty of Environmental and Agricultural Sciences of the URL, Marco Arévalo, stressed the importance of promoting in companies, from the academy, the proper use of this element and encourage the interest of the industrial segment for the treatment of the water they use in their processes, as this segment is, precisely, one of the main contaminants of water.
