An initiative on integral management of historic buildings was recently announced by the Santa María la Real Foundation, it is a transnational project in which companies and building management entities from France, Spain and Portugal participate.
As explained by the technical director of the Foundation, Gumersindo Bueno, the objective of this proposal is to generate a series of technological tools that help reduce the expenditure of public administrations in restoration, maintenance and management of monumental buildings and that contribute to improving their energy efficiency.
As previous experience, we have what has been launched by the entity with the heritage monitoring system, MHS, which has been operating for a few years in the search for the preventive conservation of architectural heritage.
However, with this project it will be possible to have many more initiatives since tools will be generated that integrate preventive conservation and energy consumption, in addition, it will be able to control the visits and security of the buildings, said the director.
This new proposal will serve as an example to other entities that work with this same goal in different regions such as Latin America, where a large number of heritage and historical buildings rest.
The team will begin work on the development of this new system at the end of the year and their research will last 26 months.
The SHBuildings project is divided into several phases and the ultimate goal is the creation of a comprehensive management system for historic buildings, composed of software and hardware and based on Cloud Computing.
