Brazil. The Southern Brazilian Association of Air Conditioning, Heating and Ventilation (Asbrav) explained that one of the equipment that most brings headaches to vacationers is the refrigerator, which due to its little use can present problems in the preservation of food.
For that reason, the association makes some recommendations for consumers to keep their food and beverages well refrigerated. For starters, if the equipment is new, it is worth having the user manual of the refrigerators. They are important guidelines for the distribution of products within the spaces of each model, they also provide some tips to keep the equipment preserved for longer.
- "When it has been detained for a long time, as in beach houses, the main thing is to keep them off and with the door ajar. Thus, it is possible to preserve the fluidity of the refrigerants and the sealing of the refrigerators," said Adão Lumertz, asbrav's director of heritage.
When arriving at the beach, cleanliness is paramount. With the door open, the refrigerator becomes an empty space exposed to dirt. So, first of all, hygiene is essential. The same goes for the return to the cities for a long period. In these cases, before going on the road, it is essential to remove all food and thoroughly clean drawers and shelves that can be soiled with food debris. Otherwise, leaving the equipment with the door ajar can create a space conducive to the appearance of bacteria and insects.
- Refrigerators are devices that do not require preventive maintenance. They are strong and durable. Primary care is related to hygiene. Improper use can also cause a refrigerant leak.
The team has a number of divisions. The organization of food is important, for example, by staying close to colder air ducts, which can ensure the preservation of meat for longer. Fruits and vegetables should be placed in insulated drawers, not plastic. If there are no such spaces, as in the case of old refrigerators, you can transform a shelf into a grid format, isolating excess cold with a tablecloth.
