International. The company specialized in enterprise software SAP, announced that it is collaborating with the company Shell in order to develop a new solution for the management of its facilities on the SAP HANA platform.
Shell recognizes the value of implementing SAP HANA as a single computing platform that can help accelerate the company's analysis, business processes and data processing.
With the aim of improving the performance of existing applications, the collaboration between Shell and SAP seeks to create the next generation of tools for the management of Shell's oil wells and reserves.
The planned solution should deliver tools and best practices that allow users to professionally understand their assets and identify opportunities in the operation phase, in order to lead to an increase in production and a better optimization of resources.
"Customers like Shell can benefit from the opportunities that open up with the use of SAP HANA. While we, by collaborating with our customers, can know the direct impact that software has on users," said Steve Lucas, president of SAP.
The planned solution will integrate information from more than 20 data sources into SAP HANA. While SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio will be used to build an intuitive interface in HTML5 with the hierarchy of assets and geospatial navigation.
