Two new hotels within three months will open the InterContinental hotel group in order to resume its expansion in the Argentine market. The project contemplates the arrival of the InterContinental in the city of Mendoza, which will be completed next March, while by the end of 2009 the inauguration of a second Holiday Inn Express in Rosario is planned.
The Mendoza hotel will have 252 rooms spread over 15 floors and ten meeting rooms. The Holiday Inn Express will have 175 rooms.
According to Alvaro Diago, General Director of Operations of the IHG group, "Latin America did not participate in the real estate bubble that burst in Europe and the United States, to which, in the case of Argentina, was added the favorable fact that it does not depend so much on North American tourism, as Mexico."
