With the presence of tourism authorities in the region, the Riu hotel chain inaugurated the new RIU Playacar Convention Center in Playa del Carmen, the first of its kind to open the hotel company in Mexico, expanding its services and infrastructure in this destination.
The place required an investment of US$2.5 million and offers a space of 750 square meters. It has the capacity to accommodate more than 600 people; internet access, kitchen suitable for banquets, state-of-the-art technical equipment, eight charging points and professional staff for this type of service.
According to Maria José Rincón, director of operations of RIU Hotels & Resorts in Playa del Carmen, the chain's commitment to the Riviera Maya is still valid and one example is this latest investment. "This time it is not a hotel but the RIU Playacar Convention Center with which we want to support the efforts of this magnificent destination that reeks of the growth and diversification of its tourist offer," he added.
