According to the president of the Sociedad de Hoteles de Perú (SHP), José Koechlin, at least ten hotel firms will soon enter Peru.
Groups of the hospitality industry from the United States, Mexico and Europe, from categories of three to five stars have demonstrated their interest in the Inca territory.
"In the hotel market there are corporations that operate with various brands of various categories; therefore, of those 10 brands, some belong to corporations that already operate in the country and others to new chains that are about to enter and that have several categories, "said Koechlin.
The attention that is placed on the country by hotel entrepreneurs is not limited only to the Peruvian capital, but aims to expand throughout the nation in different provinces.
"One of the chains would be Hyatt and another Fourt Seasons," said the representative. Likewise, he indicated that the number of procedures, permits and licenses that the country interposes for the entry of new companies are a limitation for the processes.
It is estimated that the figure for investments in the hotel sector in Peru will amount to US%777 million, "of which almost 50% would be affected or stopped because of the bureaucratic obstacles of not giving a prompt solution," said the virtual newspaper specialized in economy Gestión.pe.
