The first five-star hotel in Mendoza, Argentina, is forecast to open in 2015. It will be located at the entrance of the industrial park and very close to the Mendoza International Airport.
This investment is projected to cost US$78 million , which will be covered by Argentine and Chilean capital; and will cover 13,000 square meters. In addition to offering accommodation, it will have a large shopping center, casino, pharmacies and a large industrial area.
The philosophy of this new establishment will be aimed at providing a luxury service to tourists and business people who arrive in the province by air.
Currently the work team is in the early stages of the project; field tasks, soil study, feasibility of the terrain and exact measurements of the site.
According to Carlos Corengia, in charge of the Investment Directorate of the Lasherina commune, the works would start before the end of 2012.
The executive said that although they cannot yet report on the name of the hotel chain that will be installed there, it is an organization of North American origin.
In addition, he said that the project will have a strong impact on the area "since this year the growth of tourists who arrived at the airport increased by 30% and, in addition, by the flow of businessmen who disembark exclusively to do commercial operations daily to the industrial park".
