Recently the international hotel chain Marriott announced its plans to open a new resort in Cape San Lucas in Mexico by 2015.
The luxury establishment will have 300 rooms will have an extension of six hectares overlooking the Sea of Cortez; It will have 250 meters of beach and will be located within the renowned tourist, residential and commercial development Puerto Los Cabos.
Puerto Los Cabos is an 8,000-hectare complex comprised of private residences, marina, restaurants, boutiques and an 18-hole golf course designed by Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus. It is located 11 kilometers from Los Cabos International Airport and less than five kilometers from San José del Cabo, founded in 1730.
The property will also have a restaurant serving delicious dishes, a snack bar and grill and a poolside bar. The complex will have 1,220 square meters of meeting rooms and a large event room.
In the wet area there will be a swimming pool, spa, jacuzzi and in the sports area the property will have tennis courts and a gym. There will also be a club for children and teenagers and a business center for business travelers.

The hotel was designed by the firm Olson Kundig of Seattle, United States together with the local firm Idea Asociados de México.
According to Laurent de Kousemaeker, Marriott International's director of development for the Caribbean and Latin America, "Los Cabos is a wonderful tourist destination, and Puerto Los Cabos is the ideal location for the city's first JW Marriott Resort."
