Chile. By the end of 2018, the Marriott hotel chain plans to have seven new hotels in different cities in Chile, which would be added to the three properties that the company already has in Santiago.
According to information released by Craig Smith, Marriott's president for Latin America and the Caribbean, the first property openings will take place in the next six months with the opening of the Courtyard by Marriott hotel in the city of Santiago.
A key element in the expansion plans of the Courtyard brand is the existing alliance with Falabella warehouses, a company that has a wide availability of land that can be made available to Marriott for the construction of new hotels.
Specifically, the executive expects to soon have new properties in intermediate cities of the Austral country, such as Valparaiso or Viña del Mar.
This is part of a macro-regional expansion plan. According to Smith, Marriott currently has 90 hotels throughout Latin America, but for the next four years they expect to reach about 150 properties.
