Chile. In recent years, the installation of solar panels in public and private areas throughout the country has increased markedly, a sustainable trend that, in the case of real estate projects, allows considerable savings in internal consumption of each department and common expenses.
These new mechanisms help lower costs on accounts for the end user. For example, according to Andrés Ergas, commercial manager of RDG, "if we take it to figures, we estimate that a department of the same characteristics and without these elements should be paying between 30% and 40% more between internal consumption and common expenses than the departments we are developing, especially between the months of October and April".
But how do solar panels work? These mechanisms capture radiation from the sun on a dark surface to better absorb it. Inside this surface, composed of several layers and with an insulator in the back so that the heat does not pass through the panel, there is a grill of copper pipes through which water circulates. "The absorption of thermal energy from solar radiation causes the water to increase in temperature and pressure so that it circulates in the pipes of a building to be used as domestic hot water, shower, hot tap water, among others," explains the executive.
"We believe in the need to innovate and make projects an example of energy efficiency and savings for our customers, which is why we are very aware of the latest technologies and new products or systems that help improve the environment and people's lives," emphasizes the executive.
It is for this reason that, in addition to solar panels, low-consumption luminaires, energy-saving elevators, hot water heaters, aerators in taps, dual flush in bathrooms and gardens with drip irrigation that generate low maintenance costs have been incorporated.
