For gender equity, Schneider Electric received recognition

International. Schneider Electric has been ranked for the third consecutive year on Bloomberg's Gender Equity Index (GEI). The GHG is open to all companies from different sectors with a market capitalization greater than one billion dollars. Schneider Electric is one of the 325 global companies and one of the 16 in the industrial sector considered in the list.

"We are honored to be recognized for the third consecutive year for our efforts to achieve gender equality," said Jean-Pascal Tricoire, president and CEO of Schneider Electric. "At Schneider Electric, women and gender equity are our top priority. We pride ourselves on fostering an inclusive culture where women leaders are empowered, empowered, and visible in the organization. We have set a goal to reach at least 30 percent of women on every leadership team by 2020. Gender balance is integral to how we do business, and we're making it a business priority."

Created in 2016, the Bloomberg GEI provides managers and investors with comparative information on the gender equality performance of the world's largest companies. Based on a detailed self-disclosure survey on 2018 data, the GHG provides a unique barometer of gender equality performance, as well as transparency in gender reporting and women's advancement globally. And by publishing its gender-related data, Schneider Electric has strengthened its commitment to gender equality in more than 100 countries in which it operates.

"The 325 companies included in GHG 2020 have demonstrated their commitment to transparency and have demonstrated leadership in reporting gender-related data," said Peter T. Grauer, president of Bloomberg. "The disclosure of company statistics and practices is an important first step in supporting gender equality globally."

The Index includes 75 questions in one of the five pillars: female leadership and talent flow; equal pay and gender parity; inclusive culture; sexual harassment policies and positioning as pro-woman brands. Companies are assigned a score based on both disclosure and excellence of the data.

Schneider Electric scored highly in the categories of Inclusive Culture and Pro-Woman Brand Positioning. This strong performance reflects the company's numerous initiatives:

  • Strong leadership in building an inclusive work culture and advocating for gender equality.
  • Empower women through global policies and practices, such as the Global Family Leave Policy and the Global Pay Equity Framework.
  • Invest in the professional training of women, through programs such as Access to Energy or practices such as mentoring and coaching at all levels of the organization.
