International. The International Facility Management Association (IFMA) announced its new Executive Committee elected by members and appointees to the global board of directors for the fiscal year 2020-21 (July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2021).
Peter Ankerstjerne, MBA, COP, FRICS, IFMA member, Global FM and experience services leader for Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL) began his tenure as Chairman of the Board. He is joined by First Vice President Laurie A. Gilmer, P.E., CFM, SFP, LEED-AP, CxA, Vice President/Chief Operating Officer, Facility Engineering Associates, P.C.; and Second Vice President Dean Stanberry, CFM, LEED AP O+M. Executive committee members serve one-year terms.
Former Chair of ifma's Asian Advisory Board and former chair of IFMA's Hong Kong Chapter (2011-13) Jenny Yeung, CFM, MRICS, MSOE, CEnv is a new board member, serving a three-year term. Returning board members include Jos Duchamps, MSc. Eng.; Hari Hegde; Luis Morejón; Kate North; Michael Redding; Lorri Rowlandson; Colette Temmink, CFM, FRICS, CPM, CRE, MCR, SLCR; and Mindy Williams-McElearney.
These individuals bring to the organization a wide range of subject matter expertise, including integrated facilities management (FM), ecological and social well-being, workplace innovation and transformation, smart buildings, sustainability and energy management, project and performance management, and facilities management operations.
"With the recent changes in work, workplace and work style brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, there has never been a more critical time to be in facility management than now," said President Peter Ankerstjerne. "FM professionals around the world are being recognized for their contributions to keeping employees healthy and safe, while keeping the business afloat. This has brought the facilities and workplace management industry to a critical juncture where we see a greater focus on flexibility, resilience, digitalisation and experience."
