Samsung launches new line of air conditioners

Wind Free SamsungLatin America. Samsung presents for the entire Latin American region its renewed Wind-Free™ air conditioner with Seer 23 efficiency of 12,000 BTU capacity, a version that generates energy savings of 43% during its regular operation, according to energy efficiency studies approved by governments such as Panama, among others.

The new Wind-Free™ features Digital Inverter Boost technology, an energy-saving innovation developed by Samsung engineers, in which the compressor can regulate its own revolutions per minute (RPM) to maintain its energy use at maximum efficiency.

The inverter technology is more efficient as it simply slows down once the desired temperature is reached in the room and then only has to accelerate slightly once the temperature rises again, which means that the energy consumption is lower. That is, the compressor does not turn on and off, like traditional air conditioners. This process results in less temperature fluctuation, which means that users can enjoy a pleasant and constant ambient temperature.

Another way to reduce energy consumption is with the use of the Eco Mode function, which saves energy and keeps spaces cool by using less compressor power compared to normal mode. Eco mode also reduces air conditioning RPM by up to 35% to reduce power consumption if it detects that there are few people in the room, or that the ambient temperature is low.

The WindFree™ also has a technology that allows through 23 thousand micro holes to properly disperse the air throughout the room, achieving an 11% wider coverage and a distance of up to 15 meters, that is, it cools more space, in a short time and with an almost imperceptible noise.

Higher electricity bills aren't the only concern regarding energy consumption. Many consumers are also concerned about how the use of their appliances may affect the environment. Samsung strives to make all of its devices, including air conditioners, more energy efficient and sustainable for the future.

"We will continue to work to develop air conditioners that provide maximum comfort to users at minimal cost while at the same time having a positive impact on our environment, not only for today, but also for the future" Madeleine Rodriguez, Product Manager at Samsung Electronics.
