Latin America. Being still in pandemic, the mask is a good resource to filter both viruses and pollen particles that cause allergy. However, pollen moves easily through the air, so it can easily enter indoor spaces. Therefore, it can also enter people's airways even when they do not go out to parks.
Is there a way to place a "mask" on the windows of the house, to prevent pollen and also viruses from entering? There are indeed mechanisms for the house that work similarly to masks. It is the filter system contained in air purifiers.
Indeed, electrostatic HEPA filters trap particles that measure less than one-thousandth of a millimeter, including, of course, pollen from weeds and grasses that cause allergies.
"The power of static electricity used by HEPA filters traps up to 99.97% of particles up to 0.3 microns, and is not prone to clogging, as are non-certified HEPA filters," says Milena Santos Romay, Director of Strategic Marketing and Unit Product at Daikin.
There are different types of filters designed for the characteristics of each environment. For example, humidifier filters are included in equipment that purifies the air in spaces affected by environmental dryness. On the other hand, deodorizing filters absorb and decompose odors without needing to be changing them, unlike those that work with activated carbon, which do need replacement.
"If there is something that characterizes the filters of Daikin equipment, it is that they have a long useful life, so it is possible to spend up to 10 years enjoying their benefits, without having to make any type of replacement," says the executive.
"Even maintenance is much easier in Daikin equipment, since it is enough to vacuum, without having to open the panel, so that the filters are kept in optimal condition," adds Milena Santos Romay.
Having an air purifier is equivalent to placing a mask at home, and in this way make it possible to breathe air inside free of pollen and other particles that affect the health of people and pets.
