Walmart Unveiled New Security Strategy

Mexico. Walmart of Mexico and Central America, in alliance with Escudo Urbano C5 (Center for Coordination, Command, Control, Communications and Computing) of the State of Jalisco, presented a strategy to strengthen the security of the people of Jalisco, which consists of the placement of Help Buttons in the more than 250 units that operate in the demarcation, including the formats of Bodega Aurrera, Bodega Aurrera Express, Mi Bodega Aurrera, Sam's Club, Superama, Walmart Express and Walmart Supercenter.

The interconnection between the units of the company and Escudo Urbano C5, will allow to monitor, receive and attend the activation of the Help Buttons so that public security, civil protection or medical services assist the population in the shortest possible time.

Since its arrival in the state in 1981, Walmart of Mexico and Central America has invested more than $12.35 billion pesos in the start-up of stores and logistics network in the state of Jalisco, where it currently generates about 14,000 direct jobs and 14,000 indirect jobs. With the placement of The Help Buttons in all its units, the company strengthens teamwork with local authorities to offer a safe shopping experience, and in line with its purpose of helping families in Mexico save money and live better.

The initiative was announced at an event held at the Walmart Supercenter Vallarta store in Zapopan. On behalf of the government of the State of Jalisco, the Engineer Francisco Xavier Orendain De Obeso, General Strategic Coordinator of the Cabinet of Development and Economic Growth; Mr. Juan Bosco Pacheco Medrano, Secretary of Public Security; General Arturo González García, Metropolitan Commissioner; Engineer Alejandro Plazas Arriola, General Director of Escudo Urbano C5; and Maestro Francisco Javier Campos Orozco, General Director of Public Policy Analysis of the General Strategic Security Coordination. Representing Walmart of Mexico and Central America, José Manuel Castañeda, Director of Operations of Walmart Supercenter and Claudia de la Vega, Director of Corporate Affairs, participated.
