Innovative construction was recognized at the FIABCI Colombia Awards

FIABCI

Colombia. The North Tower of Atrio has been distinguished in the categories of Best Offices and Grand Winner of Real Estate Excellence during the XXV edition of the FIABCI Colombia 2023 Awards. The International Federation of Real Estate Professions, FIABCI, thus recognises the most innovative and sustainable constructions at a global level, highlighting criteria of environmental sustainability and social responsibility in each project presented.

This recognition allows Colombia to participate with the North Tower of Atrio in the Prix D'Excellence 2024 award, the most outstanding award for real estate excellence worldwide.

The North Tower of Atrio, with a privileged location in the heart of Bogotá for having the best access roads and services offered, is consolidated as an icon in the International Center, being one of the most modern buildings in Latin America.

"In a world where sustainability has become a priority, we are proud that the North Tower of Atrio is recognized as the best office building in Colombia and awarded for its excellence by the prestigious International Federation of Real Estate Professions, FIABCI," said Tomas Huertas, Manager of Atrio Torre Norte.

In addition to the FIABCI awards, the construction has obtained LEED Gold certification, making it one of the most sustainable buildings in the country and the region. This recognition translates into a significant environmental impact, contributing to savings of 40% in water, 65% in water for irrigation, 15% in energy, among other resources.

"The North Tower of Atrio contributes directly to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of companies, being an investment that aligns financial profitability with social and environmental responsibility. According to McKinsey & Company, companies operating in LEED buildings experience 12% higher profitability compared to their counterparts in conventional buildings.

FIABCI

Different studies have shown a positive impact on employees thanks to sustainable buildings such as the North Tower of Atrio: 11% fewer absences due to illness and 26% more productivity, 20% more job satisfaction than those who work in conventional spaces, 15% in stress reduction and employees who work in sustainable work environments are 22% more likely to feel proud of their company.

Development of the Atrium project
The Atrium project is made up of three stages: the first is the construction of the North Tower; the second is a cultural center that began its construction a few weeks ago where the old Gonzalo Jiménez de Quesada Convention Center was; and the third, the South Tower, to be built.

Currently at the International Center, new real estate projects total more than 1 billion pesos, not including the most important office project in the country, the North Atrio Tower, which cost 300 million dollars.

Atrio thus marks the beginning of a new chapter in sustainable construction for Colombia and reinforces its position as a benchmark in the region.
