International. ePower&Building 2016, the call specialized in all the solutions of the construction cycle, organized by IFEMA, and integrated by the monographic salons Matelec, Lightec, Construtec, Piedra, Veteco, Bimexpo, Y Urbótica, brought together the presence of 72,275 professional participants, between October 25 and 28 at Feria de Madrid. MATELEC brought together under one roof almost 700 direct exhibitors, 45% more than in the last edition, and 40,000 professional participants in the sector, enhancing with its geographical coverage throughout the Iberian Peninsula, and internationally.
The last edition of Matelec has been very reinforced thanks, among other aspects, to the incorporation of great leading brands such as Simon, Ledvance, Jung, etc., and with references in distribution such as Sonepar or Electrostock, which have contributed to the Event becoming the party par excellence of the Spanish installer / integrator sector.
The international positioning of ePower&Building as a great platform in southern Europe has meant that in MATELEC 11% of total visitors come from outside Spain, convening professionals from 86 countries around the world. Portugal (35%), Italy (7%), France (4.6%) and Germany (4.2%) were the main European countries of origin for these professional visits to MATELEC 2016. Also, very remarkable has been the behavior of North African countries, with Morocco (4.6%) at the head, which by geographical link and urban developments has brought important delegations of professionals in the sector. It was followed by Tunisia, Egypt, and Ivory Coast. On the other hand, Mexico (7%) and Argentina (5.3%), have been the main Latin American markets, which have participated in the Fair with the aim of commercial alliances with the Spanish market.
The professional channel of the installation and integration sector (12,059 professionals), engineering (5,319 professionals) and distribution (5,419 professionals), have come massively to its great sectoral meeting. Thus, MATELEC 2016 highlighted the growth of all regions, especially Andalusia (with 8% of total domestic visitors), Valencia (7.8), Castilla La Mancha (7.8%), Castilla y Leon (7.58%) and Catalonia (6.7%). For its part, Madrid continues to be the main national market, with 37% of total domestic visitors, increasing in volume but losing relative weight so that the coverage of the entire Iberian geographical area is enhanced and expanded.
