Colombia. Cali will have a new air terminal in 2017. The current building was built in 1971 so it will undergo a remodeling.
Spacious, safe and up to the needs of Cali. This will be the new international terminal built by the Aerocali consortium in the municipality of Palmira and serving the capital of Valle del Cauca. With an investment of $ 210,000 million, Cali renovates its air terminal and seeks to attract a greater number of airlines and frequencies.
The works of the airport are going at a good pace, so much so that the general manager of Aerocali, Ricardo Lenis, assured that this terminal would be ready in mid-December of this year. As for the details of the project, it is known that it will have six new parking positions, a duty free area of 350 square meters, a VIP room for Avianca of 350 square meters and about 25 commercial premises.
The new building, whose roof was specially designed to provide a sense of spaciousness and freshness, will serve the growing operation of airlines such as American Airlines, Avianca, KLM, Iberia and Tame. According to the administrators, negotiations are being held with other airlines to start operations in the new facilities. Traffic growth is so good that the operator presented an APP to extend the operation of the airport and include other terminals such as Ibagué, Neiva and Armenia.
