Colombia. In Bogotá, the Aqueduct Company launched an awareness campaign so that the buildings and in general the people of Bogotá contribute to the cleaning under the name 'Do not flood the city with garbage'.
"It is a citizen duty not to throw garbage on the street, not to throw waste until we find a correct place, because then the city will look cleaner," the zonal manager of the Bogotá Aqueduct told local media during the presentation of the campaign.
When good waste management is done, it is achieved that in the rainy season there are no emergencies in the city due to blocking sewers due to garbage.
"Any paper, bag, bottle will then give to the sewers and, when we need them to work, normally in the rainy season they do not do it," Valencia concluded in his statements.
One of the goals of the campaign is to greatly reduce the amount of waste emitted and, at the same time, that those that are produced have a better and more efficient disposal.
