International. The Usgbc (Green Building Council of the United States) already has in operation the most recent update of the Sustainable Building Classification system, called LEEDv4.
The changes from the LEEDv3 version, or LEED 2009 as it is also known, occur in three main categories: New Market Sectors, Increased Technical Rigor and Faster Services. At the moment, around 122 projects in the world are using this new version that will be used for testing.
Last June 2013 LEEDv4 was approved, which entered into force in November 2013, from which there will be a few months of overlap with the LEEDv3 version. This approval comes after six Public Exposure Periods, in which more than 22,000 comments were received from Members, the 12-month beta trial, the Creation of a Consensus Body and the final vote by all USGBC members in June 2013.
This new version has a more rational and simplified order of the subsystems grouping them into five categories:
Design and Construction of Buildings:
New Construction
Core and Wrapping
Educational
Commercial Areas
Data Processing Centers
Logistics
