Colombia. The Clinaltec International High-Tech Clinic, located in the city of Ibagué, Tolima, provides specialized services in clinical oncology and radiotherapy and bet on renewable energy with a solar roof where 380 polycrystalline panels were installed.
This photovoltaic system provided by the company Celsia, will generate approximately 150 MWh / year, which will allow Clinaltec to meet 20% of its average consumption and contribute to the care of the environment, because it will stop emitting 56 tons of CO2 per year.

For Mario Raúl Páramo, architect of Clinaltec, this alliance was significant, as they managed to articulate their commitment to health along with the preservation of natural resources. "Having Celsia in this process was fundamental. Their knowledge and experience allowed us to move forward and see that it was possible to take advantage of solar energy in our facilities, because we are a clinic with equipment of high energy consumption and their support in reducing expenses through the use of renewable energy, for us it is a hit, "he said.
In the course of this 2019, Celsia will also begin the installation of solar panels on three of the roofs of the Mercacentro supermarket chain and a solar floor in the Playa Hawai recreational center in Ibagué.
"In this way, renewable energies will continue to grow in Ibagué, contributing to the progress and development of the capital of Tolima," concluded Vélez.
Celsia's solar energy in Colombia
Celsia reached 100 MW of clean and renewable energy this year. There are 6 solar farms and 110 solar roofs and floors that represent a relief for the planet, because thanks to them more than 50,000 tons of C02 will no longer be emitted each year.
Additionally, projects are in the process of installation in the departments of Quindío, Antioquia, Atlántico, Cundinamarca, Bolívar, Valle del Cauca and Cauca. In Central America, the company is developing projects in: Panama, Honduras and Costa Rica.
