More than 150 professionals gathered at CIFMers LATAM 2019

Peru. The International Congress of Facility Managers in LATAM, CIFMers LATAM 2019, was successfully held on September 19 and 20 at the Grupo Centenario building in Lima and was attended by more than 150 people.

Conferences
The first day of the Congress was dedicated to the area of Services and Energy, in which the President of the Peruvian Association of Facility Management (APEFAM), Roberto Torres, made the opening ceremony talking about the situation of FM in Peru and the impact for companies. The Welcome continued with the presentation of the General Director of CIFMERS GLOBAL, David Martínez, who explained the present and future of FM in the Latin American market.

Then, the first block of conferences began, which was moderated by Roberto Torres. In this block, the Director of Facilities Management at Tgestiona, Vanessa Yupari, spoke about the value that a good partner brings to supporting the operation of the business. "The supplier customer relationship is important, but in the case of FM, it is critical," Yupari said.

For his part, the Manager of Real Estate Projects in Falabella, Javier Vidal, spoke about the impact of a good support department in the execution of projects, and stressed that the key to success is to be sustainable with society, with the business and with the environment. Finally, Ana Lucía Moreno, Services & Security Manager at ENEL Condesa, closed the block talking about what to do when you are the first in your organization to implement FM.

The second block was moderated by the CEO of Peru Green Building Council, Francesca Mayer, a block of conferences in which the Former LATAM Facilities Management Director at Uber, Ulises Rueda, discussed how to integrate the energy service within the FM model. "Something key for companies should form the support plan, but this is not always the case," Rueda said.

Later, it would be the turn of the Facilities Manager at TELEFÓNICA, César Mino, who explained how energy can be saved without impacting the productivity of the organization, and stressed that "the focus of cost reduction must go hand in hand with the impact on companies".  

During the afternoon of this day, two workshops were held, one on Services and the other on Energy. In the first, given by David Martínez, as general director of FMHOUSE, the internal and external vision of the cost savings model in FM was discussed, and in the second, given by the representative of SPR (Peruvian Society of Renewable Energies), Raúl Vargas, the scenarios for the implementation of alternative energy systems.

To end this first day of CIFMers LATAM 2019, the gathering of associations was held, where the different representatives of Latin America exchanged their ways of working and agreed to strengthen ties to work together.

The second day of the congress, dedicated to Workplace and Technology, was inaugurated with the first block of conferences, moderated by the Deputy Manager of General Services and Customer Experience at the Scientific University of the South, Roberto Torres. The beginning of this block came from the hand of Fernando Faria, Head of Real Estate and Facilities Management LATAM at SANOFI, who made a presentation on what tools are needed or not to manage a regional portfolio. Faria stressed that "the technological need can be confused with the reality of the company, and it can be serious." On the other hand, Regina Ortiz, Customer Innovation Principal South LAC at SAP, presented some real cases of innovation in organizations together with SAP.

In this same block, Luis Masías of Telefonica Media Networks joined the rest of the speakers to form a round table in which they would discuss Transformation, Implementation and Investment in Digitalization.  

In the second block of this day, Bruno Ramírez, Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Peruvian Association of Facility Management, was the moderator. Paul Yarleque, Real Estate Business Partner Latin America at Ericsson, spoke about people as the focus of the design of work environments, assuring that "models of spaces focused on people will change the concept of office". The Project Manager & Facilities Manager at BBVA, Sandra Cabanillas, shared how to adapt an existing design of spaces to the changing reality of the company. Cabanillas stressed that "if you do not understand the business and what you need, you can not create the right spaces." At the end of this block, Ana Lucía Moreno joined the rest of the speakers to form a round table in which they would dialogue on

Coworking
The day closed with a workshop on Workplace given by Juan Carlos Checa, Director Peru at Contract Workplaces, in which the importance of well-being taught in the office was discussed.

Guided tours
The finishing touch of CIFMers LATAM 2019, was put on the third and last day of this event, with guided tours by the hand of Facility Management professionals to the buildings of Campus Villa UPC, Alicorp corporate building, BBVA and the Interbank Tower, resulting in all visits of great interest.

CIFMERS GLOBAL confirmed that the next edition of this event will take place in Panama.
